When the North East Business Innovation Centre contacted us with an unusual request, we couldn’t help but get excited!
The old reception was getting a face-lift and their signage, maps and huge scale model of the BIC site were looking a little dated, so with this in mind, we came up with a 21st century solution… a 3D interactive map!
Tom created a scale model of the entire BIC site; from buildings to car parking, road networks to trees. The model can be used to create high-resolution 3D images of the BIC from any angle, Emma used this as the basis to create a massive printed map for reception and signage for the atrium.
The next step was to develop the interactive map. We wanted something that could be embedded inside any of the BIC web sites and also be used as a stand-alone resource. The final result is an engaging and easy to navigate mapping tool, giving directions to visitors and providing links to the BIC web site for more information on buildings, office space and events at the BIC.
Best of all, give it a go on your iPad or Android tablet too… it works like a charm!
