Branding / Design & Print / Illustration / Multimedia

Prior to launching Jam Jar Studios, we supported Shoo Fly Publishing in our roles as Software Development Manager and Senior Designer. Since 2003 we have worked with Shoo Fly to establish a brand now at the fore-front of educational publishing; one which oozes creativity, high quality design/content and demonstrates that learning can be fun as well as helping us to grow.
Working alongside Shoo Fly’s Creative Director, we created a library of software titles including four award winning ‘Connected Learning Resources’ and two times award winning ‘The Three Little Cowboy Builders’ 3D interactive pop-up book.
In addition, we developed all three of the Shoo Fly web sites and Shoo Fly’s ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ compatible, SCORM packages.
Shoo Fly’s two web sites reflect the creativity that is at the heart of their resources; an explosion of colour, quirky graphics and animation bring the software to life, while interactive demonstrations, video and downloadable resources support teachers in making purchasing decisions.

Our brief, develop a software resource to help deliver ‘The Thoughtful Learner Program’ into primary school classrooms across the UK.
Our brief, develop a software resource to involve children with the exhibits housed in the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art. The software would realise the educational concept of Anne Curtis, Education Consultant and founder of Shoo Fly Publishing.
Commissioned by Durham Libraries, in partnership with Shoo Fly Publishing, we were asked to design and deliver a reading campaign to invite pre-school children and their families into their local library.
